Introduction to Lace Knitting

In this class you will make the Ashton shawlette (free Ravelry pattern). You will learn how to read and customize charts, when and how to add beads, how to read lace work and find and fix mistakes. You will also receive several faggoting stitch patterns and learn how to use them in customizing patterns.

Date/Time: Tuesdays from 10:30am-12:30pm, 4 sessions: 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18

Materials: 

• Ashton Shawlette Pattern (free on Ravelry)

• Approx 420-450 yds fingering weight yarn, either subtle variegation or solid color

• 32” US 5 circular needles

• Stitch markers

• Optional:  6/0 or 8/0 beads and No. 8 steel crochet hook

 

Skill Level: Completion of Knit 2 or the ability to do a long tail cast on and basic increases and decreases.
